| Tending Bar: Counting Calories |
|
|
|
Every gram of alcohol is turned into seven calories
while it is metabolized. This works out to over 200
calories per fluid ounce of pure alcohol. In addition
to the calories from the alcohol, many beverages also
add sugar and other caloric additives.
The easiest way to reduce the amount of calories in
a drink is to cut back on the amount of alcohol in the
beverage - alcohol is the largest source of empty calories
in almost all alcoholic drinks.
