Coladas combine coconut cream, juice, and liquor to create sweet and popular mixed drinks. Interesting coladas can be created by using various kinds of juice with syrups and liqueurs.

If you are able to find coconut cream in a store, be sure to grab it - usually only coconut milk is available and the added sweetness of the cream is a real treat. If they do have it, it will come in a can. In a pinch, coconut milk or even Piña Colada mix will serve it's purpose, but the genuine article is preferred.

If you are using a mix, we recommend that you follow the instructions on the bottle and then complement the colada with a pineapple slice and a drop of grenadine for color.
